Fashion blogging– feature Simmy

Fashion blogging is a great way to promote yourself especially if you have a great sense of style or have an immense amount of knowledge on the industry. The blogging community is a world in itself where all bloggers are connected in some way whether it’s personal interactions, interests, topics or even geographic locations. Blogging is similar to public relations in regards to publicity, promotions, interactions with publics and feedback mechanisms.

I worked for an event today and met a fashion blogger who swept me off my feet by her love of fashion and her great personality. Simmy mentioned something interesting about the progress of blogging, especially for the fashion world. It is currently getting more acknowledgement and publicity, but it wasn’t always like this in previous years. She also expressed how she attends fashion events in order to network and get her name out there, which I think is a great idea for anybody and everybody. Meeting new people and having conversations is a key element in growing as a person and connecting with professionals in different fields.

Public Relations deals greatly with communication and the publics and Simmy combined both factors by having her own blog and reaching out to others by researching fashion events, contacting companies and submitting her style to magazines and papers. The message here is to honestly put yourself out there regardless of doubts, hesitation or insecurities. You are in a way a product and you have to sell yourself. In this society and generation, that’s how people are getting their names out and I suggest everybody to do the same.
